Raise your hand if every year, at least once, you become determined to lose weight. My hand is up, FYI. Well, like I’ve only said many times prior, this is it. I have a goal and I basically know my issues. I really do not eat badly, I have some bad days, but mine is portion control and lack of exercise. Well, here it is. Our annual trip to Disney’s Wine and Food Festival in November is about 10 months away, leaving Nov 1. My goal is to lose 30 pounds by then. Mickey and Minnie will not believe it.
I do NOT count calories or eat lettuce and yogurt every other day; by the way this is why most diets fail. We set ourselves up to fail. I work for a living and travel a good bit, so I have to plan ahead. Each week on Friday I will weigh in. Sure there will be good weeks, oh I hope, and bad weeks.
My goals are simple:
- Use common sense.
- Try to eliminate or reduce processed foods.
- Have healthy options available for the sweet attacks I seem to get after dinner.
- Exercise at least 4 times a week.
- Use seasonal and local produce as much as possible.
