Lazy Unproductive Co-Workers

Okay first I need to clarify that the Novel Writing Challenge I mentioned yesterday should have been clearer; it is a Romance Novel Writing Challenge. Keep your fingers crossed Fabio will not be filming an “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter” commercial and will be available for the cover. I knew this tidbit of information, I just saw no need in actually mentioning it, but my seemingly overlook was corrected by several participants yesterday evening. So now you know and can be even more prepared.

Now that’s out of the bag I am having even more trouble trying to focus on a Power Point I need to be developing. I pray for a lot of things every night, I am not greedy just know my weaknesses, and focus is one I pray hard for and have for a long time. Some days I focus well, but others a leaf blowing causes me to totally lose my train of thought. I like to think it’s because my mind is so full of life saving, world changing thoughts; however I am afraid that 90% of information contained in my mind is probably 99% useless. However, you never know when you may be faced with a situation where useless knowledge will win big or get you out of a situation, also known as BSing. Also my co-workers, two of the four pictured below, tend to be a bit lazy, unproductive, and cause inter-office cuteness. (Yes my kids like to joke and say I am the crazy old cat lady, however only one of the four is actually mine, the other three are theirs.)

Strawberry Margaritas

I do not like margaritas made from a mix. To me they are sweet and taste fake. My oldest niece brought this recipe home from college, Lenoir-Rhyne, many years ago and it has been a family favorite since.

Clear tequila

Triple Sec

12 oz. frozen limeade (Recipe calls for 6 oz. limeade but I don’t think they even make those any more. I use a 12 oz. and make two makings pouring them in a plastic pitcher with a lid and putting the pitcher in the freezer.)

Fresh strawberries

Pour frozen limeade into large pitcher, add ¾ can tequila, and ½ can triple sec. Mix very well until all the limeade has dissolved. Pour some of the mixture into blender; add ice, and fresh strawberries. Blend. You will soon figure out how much ice and how many strawberries for your own taste. I like mine thick so I blend and keep adding ice. Once it meets my requirements I pour this into another plastic pitcher and finish the mix batch by batch. Another alternative is to place the mix in the freezer and blend as needed.

About rosestancil

I am your average 50+-year-old who woke up one morning wondering how and where the extra 30 pounds suddenly appeared came from. I am a Mom to two grown children, an Environmental Engineer (go Clemson Tigers), and a farm girl. I was raised on a green onion and collard farm in what was then rural Lexington County, SC. I still live on a part of the farm and hope to stay there. I have had a subscription newsletter, Green Onion & Collards for several years. I published recipes using seasonal local foods. I became a bit overwhelmed at the responses (I know, this should have been a good thing right?) and stopped it about a year ago. Some of the recipes I post will be from the newsletter. I will not count calories or eat lettuce. Girl gotta eat. I also will not give up good craft beer and wine, I will watch my portion size however. I intend to cook healthy, full of flavor foods, which will allow me to eat more, exercise at least 4 times a week (no gym or gym contracts), reduce and try to eliminate processed foods, and have snacks handy. I am a work in progress and will always be. If I am crazy enough to post my weekly weight, you need to be crazy enough to tag along on this journey.
